Take your bikepacking efficiency to the next level and lower your bike's centre of gravity. This is an essential piece of the puzzle for water storage, ideal for hardtail/full rigid mountainbikes where there's lots of space under the frame asking to be used. (It's essential that you measure the space under your frame, see specs below).
The SWIG63 Hydration System is the replacement cap and drinking tube that fits the Nalgene and any 63mm wide mouth bottle . A quick detach button separates the hose for quick refill. The drinking straw fits the 1.5L Nalgene and can be cut shorter. Comes with a magnetic release clip & backpack clip.
With the Downunder Bag cable tied onto your cage, it will never fall out when the Voile straps are released. Slide your bottle in and out without handling a dirty bottle - as we all know, anything under the downtube will get caked in mud and cow pat, and if you're begging for water from someone, it won't increase your chances by handing over a filthy one.
SPECIFICATIONS:
- The Downunder Bag fits 1.5L Nalgene bottles (bottle is 90mm diameter, 290mm tall including the cap) BUT if you want to run a 1L Nalgene bottle, they are only 70mm shorter - there may be partially finished stock that can be shortened - please enquire.
- Clear plastic window to check water levels & drainhole.
- SWIG63 full hose length to cap: 100cm. That's 10cm longer than the old version that Paper Roads currently use, which was a stretch for people taller than 165cm.
- Also includes: magnetic hose clip, pair of 16" Voile straps & cable ties.
- Source your own cargo cage. Highly recommend the Studio Forecast Cargo Cradle.
- Source your own bottle or you may have one. (Google your closest Nalgene bottle retailer).
Tested and developed first hand, the prototype bag had no window and before long, water had run low and I couldn't see. The clear plastic window in the final design makes this a truly useful piece of gear.
