'Off the Menu'
If you ask the chef at some restaurants what delicacies they've got 'off the menu', you'll get some surprises. It's the same here at Paper Roads – check out these exciting, bespoke possibilities. These are the more unusual, not usually available, rarely requested, or not offered to order off the website because it's better with a conversation first.

Diagonal colour split
Premium crafted Framebags and Top tube bag sets with attention to detail. Framebags with diagonal panel splits and wrap around colours cannot be ordered through the standard website order form. Construction techniques are more involved and differ from Paper Roads standard bags to make way for aesthetic details. These require conversation about what you need in a bag, what design suits your bike and more precise measurements in order to make the magic happen.

Corner zips
Angled zips are all the jazz that the best bag makers in Europe are offering! They have been practised here at Paper Roads on actual customers' bags to make sure you get what you expect, made to a high standard. One was sewn into a small triangular compartment of a tandem Framebag to allow easy access, and the other was for a Bullitt cargo bike. Pricing TBC.

Corner zip & wrap around stripes
Boss level complex designs are still done well, both inside and out. Amy at Paper Roads really enjoys a bespoke challenge during the off-peak season.

Roll-top Framebags
These get requested about once a year. There's significally more effort than sewing in zips and limits the bag to 1 big compartment. From firsthand experience, there's no advantage of a roll-top compared to a zipped bag – when the bag is stuffed too full, the roll top bulge causes leg rub (thus these come with a width limit). The YKK waterproof zips are amazingly durable and there's been no returns on bags with damaged zips. However, roll top framebags can be ordered and will look very smart with well-matched coloured webbing and details. For the fashion-conscious. Pricing TBC.

Framebag with Laptop Sleeve
Most laptops and Ipads won't fit in any bag if you're sticking to a traditional bikepacking setup, but a couple of customers in the past have requested an additional, waterproof sleeve to their framebags so they can bikepack and work at the same time. One was a detachable sleeve and the other was a semi-protruding roll-top pocket. Both well received. Pricing TBC.

Click on, click off fastenings
Like bike jewellery, these shiny, German-made quick release fasteners are perfect for those who want a product crafted with perfection in the details. Ideal for frames with enough inner top tube bosses to eliminate all the straps. It's best if you are in Auckland and can visit with your bike. Pricing TBC.

Cargo bike bag
There has been one Bullitt cargo bike bag made so far, frequently in use for 3 years. There will be a few improvements made on any future bags for durability and structure. The ultralight fabric stocked at Paper Roads is not the most practical (in cost and durability) for making cargo bike bags where weight isn't an issue, however there are a few coarser, mid-weight pack fabrics available. Expect it to cost around $800 NZD.
