Ranger Bikepacking Harness
Ranger Bikepacking Harness
15% off a Hungry Ranger front bag when you purchase a Ranger Harness! (Discount applies to in-stock Hungry Rangers only)
This is the third iteration of Paper Roads' back-to-basics bikepacking harness to hold a front roll (or two). Both previous versions were functional and made of fabric, however V3 is now made of polypropylene plastic, is lighter (215g) and more fail-proof. Price includes a pair of universally popular 32" Voile straps (RRP $22.90 each). The Ranger Harness has an incredibly stable grip of your front roll as long as you pack it stiff like a log.
The most ideal setup are bikes with 60mm or more length of stem, Jones/Surly Moloko bars, so that the load hangs directly below the handlebars. The load will tilt upwards for shorter stem lengths. 20mm of foam spacers in the rear with adjustable positioning will offset the harness from your head tube and protect the frame (protective plastic always recommended for all contact points with frame).
Compatible with all handlebars and enough flexibility/length in front cables to tuck between foam spacer stacks and/or work around the the roll bag. Currently in use on upside down Ritchey Kyote riser bars with additional spacer bar - possibly the trickiest setup to date.
Prototype with 14L Slimline Dry roll has passed the 1000km mark on the GDMTBR.
Compatible with Slimline Dry rolls and the Hungry Ranger quick access front bag.
